A little bit more about us

The Near Neighbours programme brings together those who are near neighbours in communities that are religiously and ethnically diverse, so that they can get to know each other better, build relationships of trust, and collaborate together on initiatives that improve the local community they live in.

www.near-neighbours.org.uk

Near Neighbours has two key objectives:

- Social interaction - to develop positive relationships in communities i.e. to help people from different faiths and backgrounds get to know and understand each other better.

- Social action - to encourage people of different faiths and of no faith to come together for initiatives that improve their local neighbourhood.

Our parent charity Church Urban Fund (CUF) was established by the Church of England as a practical response to unmet need and has been active in local communities for over 30 years. Our vision is to see people and communities all over England flourish and enjoy life in all its fullness.

Individual Giving Manager (Full Time)

Location: London

Salary: £31-35k

The organisation:

Church Urban Fund is the Church of England’s social action charity. Our aim is to build a more just and flourishing society. At the local level, we do this by equipping and enabling local communities to address the needs in their area. At a central level, we help shape and influence national perspectives with this local knowledge and practice.

The background:

We’re trying to do acquisition differently. For us, it is about building longer-term relationships with our supporters and whether it's using the latest technology, bringing more efficient processes, or introducing brand new products, we want to continue to grow our Individual Giving fundraising programme to allow us to help and impact the lives of so many people in the UK. Last year alone, our Together Network supported over 128,000 and if we are able to continue to grow our unrestricted income, we will be able to support even more communities across the country.

Purpose of role:

As a Fundraising department, we are going from strength to strength and we are expanding our Individual Giving team as we strive to achieve our 3-year fundraising strategy to double our unrestricted income target by 2021. We are looking for someone who can do the basics in their stride but they can really make things happen! Our charity is focused around three distinct core programmes of work (Together Network, Near Neighbours and Just Finance Foundation), which are different from each other so this means that you need to an all-rounder, who can drive change through engaging products and appeals and wrestle with the back-end data side of a campaign.

Are you someone with the influencing skills and personal drive to make things happen and create real change in our society? If so, we would like to hear from you.

To apply, please send/email an up to date CV and covering letter outlining your relevant skills and experience, relating to the listed responsibilities and person specification to: Esther Brown, Church Urban Fund, 27 Great Smith Street, London, SW1P 3AZ. Email: esther.brown@cuf.org.uk
