Together Lancashire Who we are In Your Area What we do Blog Contact us Pendle With connections to George Fox and the Quakers, as well as Pendle witches the area has deep religious roots. With the demise of the cotton industry it has seen its share of decline but there is hope and Churches and Mosques are working together to improve the lives of the people in the area. Comprising the towns of Brierfield, Nelson, Colne, Barrowford, Barnoldswick and Earby, Pendle also has many villages, each with its own employment and cultural characteristics. Churches have been active in establishing support organisations for those caught in the web of poverty. Open Door (Colne) has won a Queen's Award for Voluntary Service in its work as a community cafe, with a range of training and counselling services. There is a CAP Debt Counselling centre, drop in cafes, and food banks.
