Our Impact in 2016 During 2016 CUF’s work grew in scope and scale, tackling a wide range of social, economic and community issues in collaboration with local and national partners. Together Network The Together Network continues to grow churches’ social action in innovative ways, encouraging collaboration and sharing learning among activists and organisations. In 2016 they helped to raise over £1 million for community and social action initiatives, and delivered over 330 training sessions, workshops and events, engaging with more than 11,000 people. Near Neighbours Over 40,000 people participated in Near Neighbours projects, which bring together people in local communities from different backgrounds. During 2016 this important work of building social cohesion expanded into new areas through the Common Good Fund, a response to community tensions that arose in the wake of the EU Referendum. At the same time, Catalyst, Near Neighbours’ youth leadership programme, has been inspiring and equipping young people for leadership and community action in a richly diverse society. Just Finance Foundation The Just Finance Foundation is the newest area of CUF’s work. Its aim is to create a fairer financial system focused on serving the whole community where everyone has access to essential financial services. The LifeSavers programme has already enabled 3,200 primary school pupils to participate in an innovative values-based programme about money. Meanwhile, funding was secured to expand the provision of Cash Smart Credit Savvy, a short, accessible, financial capability course for adults, to a further five areas of the country.
