Jo Cox MP lived her life spreading her belief that we have more in common than divides us.

In that spirit, her family and friends are inviting people across the country to mark the anniversary of her murder by organising or attending a celebration in their community on 17-18 June.

Near Neighbours is joining with the Jo Cox Foundation in inviting you to hold a Great Get Together in your community.

Why host a Great Get Together with Near Neighbours?

Near Neighbours is a charity that has been bringing people together in diverse areas across the country since 2011. That we have more in common than divides us is at the core of what we do. By hosting a Great Get Together with Near Neighbours you can join a movement of people across the country that have been celebrating our diversity for years.

Since we started working in 2011 we have seen:

  • Jews, Muslims, and Christians have fed Nottingham's hungry together
  • Vulnerable women have been supported into work through work to build their skill sets
  • A Muslim man set up a peace tent in a Jewish school in Ramadan to encourage Jewish and Muslim young people to get to know each other
  • Young people on our Catalyst leadership course have grown their entrepreneurial skills so that they can better serve their communities.

These stories are just a small sample of the many incredible stories that have come from six years of bringing people together.
