What we do Near Neighbours Kim Greig Who are you and what do you do for Near Neighbours? I am the Near Neighbours Coordinator for the Luton Hub. I support the grant application process from first meetings with applicants to supporting project delivery! I also help deliver Catalyst youth leadership programmes and support our national partners: Nehemiah Foundation, the Feast and Hindu Christian Forum. What have you done in the past? I was an International Volunteer for Voluntary Services Overseas (VSO) in Sri Lanka and Mozambique for 5 years. I then ran a series of Global and Community Xchange programmes for VSO & British Council to Philippines, Indonesia, Mongolia, Pakistan, and Kenya before deciding to settle in Luton! I am also an Intercultural Trainer, a reflexologist, and Archery coach! Why did you want to work for Near Neighbours? Near Neighbours is a programme with an ethos I truly believe in from a professional community development perspective. It gives me an opportunity to understand the community better and facilitate others to fulfil aspirations. Why do you love the area you work in? I love the diversity of my community, I love the social action people can engage in. This area of work is about empowering and enabling. It is about bringing the community spirits alive again.
