Blog Celebrating Near Neighbours in Nottingham Ros Henwood, East Midlands Near Neighbours Project Support Officer tells of her experience at the Nottingham Near Neighbours Celebration. Sewing, calligraphy, roller-skating, football, and food are all ways that creative projects in Nottingham are bringing people from different faiths and backgrounds together. Asylum seekers, older people, young people, crafters, Muslims, Christians, people of all faiths and none have been engaged with Near Neighbours in Nottingham. We held a celebration event on July 24th at The Vine to celebrate past and present funded projects, and to inspire new groups to apply for funding. We welcomed the Lord Mayor and the Sheriff of Nottingham to our event, along with Paul Hackwood and Ali Khimji from the Church Urban Fund and about 80 others. Guests mingled over a finger buffet, looked at project displays, added ideas to an evaluation sheet and heard presentations from inspiring projects Sneinton Town Football Club, and Faiths in Action. Near Neighbours in Nottingham is worth celebrating!
