At Church Urban Fund we are passionate about helping individuals and communities throughout England to flourish and enjoy life to the full. You will find information about the work we do and the projects with which we get involved on this website. If you share our vision and our values, why not join us?
You will find details of current employment opportunities below.
Our success rests on our approach to building trust and ability to empower local people to address the areas of greatest need in their communities and to speak out against injustice. We are committed to working through partnerships at all levels which bring about long-term, sustainable change by mobilising local people to be the source of the change they want to see and to use the many assets already available in their community. In order to respond to the shape of welfare changes, we have been through a period of change and renewal; moving from a grant making trust to a UK development agency which will ensure our vision to secure healthy and flourishing communities. Following the success of our networking and fundraising, we are increasing the size of our existing works, building new programmes of activity and growing our team.
CUF is a well-funded charity however our core programmes rely on the support of a small number of large donors to sustain them. In order to diversify our income, and therefore reduce risk, a key priority over the coming 18 months is to open up mid-range income sources - statutory, trust, major donor, and corporate - whilst enabling the joint venture organisations, to whom we are affiliated, to become self-sustaining.
The role of Grants Manager has been created to address this need and maximise the opportunities that exist to secure grant funding from charitable trusts that share the vision and mission of CUF, Near Neighbours and/or Just Finance and may be willing to offer financial support.
CUF’s Grants Manager will work closely with the Director of Partnerships to focus on the production of small grants, assisting other team members with the production of larger grant and contract applications as necessary, researching prospects and coordinating reports to funders.
As such, you will have a love of writing, be meticulous and methodical in your approach to grant writing and have the ability to identify new prospects that share CUF’s vision and have the appetite to collaborate with us to achieve real change.
