Together Lancashire Trustees KEN WALES - Chair Ken came to Preston from Leeds in 1977 to work in the County Council Education Department, and retired in 2004. He has wide experience in working as a volunteer in the Methodist Church and as a governor in school, colleges and universities. Committed to the Christian responsibility to contribute to social justice and influenced by liberation theology. CANON ED SAVILLE - SECRETARY Ed is the Lead Officer for Social Responsibility in Blackburn Diocese. He has spent over 20 years in ordained ministry after teaching and lecturing for 20 years. He has also been Leader of a Local Authority and held many posts in the Church and the Community. JON MILES - TRUSTEE Jon is Development Manager for Church Urban Fund, working on most things to do with setting up, running and developing Together partnerships, including help with governance, planning, recruitment of workers, supporting workers and trustees, network meetings and gatherings IAN HIGGINBOTHAM - TRUSTEE Ian retired as Area Director of HSBC in 2004 and is currently Chairman of the Diocese Multi-Academy Trust, a Governor of Myerscough College and Chair of Preston Street Pastors. In his spare time, he is a Rotarian, and is actively involved as a member of the Free Methodist Church where he spends time in Rwanda supporting a Hospital and Polytechnic. BEA FOSTER - TRUSTEE Bea Foster, a member of the Methodist Church and Building Bridges in Burnley (an interfaith organisation). Until her retirement, she was a Youth & Community Worker for over 30 years with Lancashire County Council and is now a Borough Councillor in Burnley. REVD ANDREW TURNER- TRUSTEE After a successful career in Computer Systems, Andrew was ordained in 1990 as a Methodist Minister and has served in Lancashire for the last 20 years. Although he officially retired in 2011 he is currently the minister of Manchester Road, Haslingden Methodist Church. Andrew’s passion for issues relating to poverty draw on his ten-year experience in church and community life in Toxteth, his training and involvement in Community Organising, and his life as a minister SANDRA HALL - TRUSTEE Sandra is passionate about tackling poverty for children through encouraging communities to work together creatively to find sustainable solutions. She actively supports initiatives in Fleetwood where she is a member of St Peter and St David’s Church. Sandra has been involved in Primary education for over the last 30 years and is at present head teacher at Blackpool St John’s CE Primary School. She believes that we need to empower children and their families break the cycle of poverty. RT REVD PHILIP NORTH - TRUSTEE Philp was consecrated Bishop of Burnley in February 2015, having been Team Rector in Old St Pancras parish in London. He has worked in parishes in Sunderland and then Hartlepool, before moving to Walsingham prior to London. The main focus of his parish ministry has been driven by the Faith in City Report – to which he also credits his call to ministry. MIKE HART - TRUSTEE Mike is an Elder, Church Treasurer and a Lay Preacher in the United Reformed Church. He has a strong commitment to the church’s role in challenging and addressing social injustice. He is a qualified accountant and has now spent over 15 years working as a senior leader in a variety of roles within Education and Children’s Services.
