Lent Prayers
Deuteronomy 15:11 encourages generosity, as the poor will always be with us. This is certainly true in 21st century England. This Lent we give you the opportunity to: THINK through the issues; PRAY with us for change; ACT in your community; and GIVE to make a difference.

Seeds of Hope: Growing hopes and dreams in 2008
This year marks 20 years since the Church Urban Fund gave its first grant to a community project in a deprived area. Seeds of Hope will give people across the country the opportunity to help the Church Urban Fund fulfil its hopes and dreams for the future and to consider the issue of poverty in England today. Children in schools, groups and clubs across the country can get involved by taking part in one of our fun activities, with a range of puzzles and more to get them thinking about poverty in England and what it means. If you would like more information on taking part, please fill in the online form below and you will be contacted soon.If you are interested in receiving more information on taking part, please

Church Urban Fund Sunday - June 1st 2008
You might be thinking “Oh no, not another ‘something' Sunday!” But yes, and our first ever Church Urban Fund Sunday is an ideal opportunity for new and long-term supporters alike to get thinking about the issue of poverty with your church or house group. You will have a theme for the week, content for that elusive sermon and objects for your public prayers. Join in with churches all over the country and give thanks for 20 years of grant making to the poorest communities in our cities and towns. Use the resources available from Church Urban Fund to focus your concern for the lonely and disadvantaged. Hold a retiring collection or an event to make your gift and show that you want to change someone's world.
Register your interest in CUF Sunday using our online form.
Ringing the changes on CUF Sunday
“Ring them bells” and celebrate 20 years of grant making to the poorest communities in the country. Does your church have a bell tower and is there a ringing team? We are exploring a special short peal for Church Urban Fund Sunday on 1 June 2008. Can you ask your bell ringers to let us know if they would like to ring a peal on or near CUF Sunday? You can have a sponsored ring or just ring in a service in which you will be thinking about the lives and needs of the poorest in your community.
Rising Sun: Greenbelt 2008
Look out for us at Greenbelt this summer as we bring the story of poverty in England to Cheltenham Racecourse from 22nd-25th August. In our third year as partner we will be adding to our popular 'Hear my Voice' exhibition, a thought provoking, interactive experience where you can hear the voices of people working and living in some of our poorest communities. Prayer sessions, arts acitivities and seminars will also add up to make this year bigger and better than ever. Keep an eye on our webpage on the Greenbelt website, or return here, for updates on this year's Greenbelt.

Joy to the world… yes we are thinking of Christmas already
Following the success of last years carol service hosted by the Archdeacon of London at St Stephen Walbrook, we will be holding a number of carol services around the country. Churches and cathedrals will be able to hold a service for the Church Urban Fund in order to raise money and awareness for our work. The hope is that the service will be held with the participation and support of locally funded projects and there will be a suggested order of service available on request.
