Faith Representatives on Local Public Partnerships
This research has been undertaken by the Church Urban Fund in partnership with
Coventry
University and the Faith-based Regeneration Network (FBRN) on behalf of the Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG). Among other findings it reveals that over 80% of faith representatives would like to see the establishment of a national network of faith representatives with an easily accessible expertise database. This would enable representatives to communicate more effectively and draw upon the support, experience and expertise of one another.
The majority of faith representatives would also like to:
- Work more closely with their local Voluntary and Community Sector
- See the recruitment of a new generation of representatives from a wider selection of faiths, as well as the recruitment of more women and young people
- See a wider number of public partnerships understand the value of having a faith representative
- Stress the independence and vision of the faith voice.
