Parish Action Teams

Across the country Parish Action Teams are being formed as the local hub for fundraising and volunteering activity. The emphasis is very much on action and on giving as many people as possible an opportunity to get involved - doing things that are enjoyable, worthwhile and make a difference.

The role of a Parish Action Team is essentially:

  • to promote the Church Urban Fund in their parish, group of churches or local area
  • to fundraise for Church Urban Fund in their local community
  • to recruit more volunteers

A Parish Action Team might start with a single person, but can quickly grow into a larger group with, say, a Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, Events Co-ordinator and other members with a whole host of skills. The team might be a sub-group of the PCC or of the local Churches Together group.

Parish Action Teams will be independent of any Diocesan Campaign Team that may have been established and will be directly supported by the Church Urban Fund direct as well as through the diocese.

If you would like an informal discussion to find out more about what is involved, please contact Jonathan Cryer, CUF’s National Volunteers Manager, on 020 7898 1695.
