Christian Muslim Forum 'London Leaders' residential - 21-22 May

The Council of Christians and Jews and Near Neighbours are holding a special event for Christian clergy and ministers this month exploring a shared Jewish and Christian understanding of Passover and its relevance to Easter.

Eric Pickles MP at Near Neighbours launch event

The Near Neighbours programme was officially launched on Monday at an event attended by Eric Pickles, Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, and the Rt Rev. Richard Chartres, Bishop of London.

Other speakers at the event were Baroness Margaret Eaton, the Chairman of Near Neighbours; Ramesh Pattni, Co-Chair of the Hindu-Christian Forum, and Revd Alan Green, vicar of St John on Bethnal Green. Revd Tim Clapton, the Near Neighbours co-ordinator in London, interviewed Fulma Begum from the DIVA women's group in Bethnal Green, one of the first projects to receive a Near Neighbours grant this year.
