Prayer for the week
Lord we pray for all the children in this country, we thank you for them. We pray that we would always have an open heart, willing to listen, to hear their hopes and fears, dreams and concerns.
We pray for those who find themselves in difficult family circumstances, those who are being bullied and rejected in their communities, those who live in an unsafe environment.
We ask, Lord, that you protect the children. Hide their faces from violence and crime, give them courage and bravery to overcome and hope for the future.
We pray for intervention in their lives that will break the cycles of fear and disappointment that they find themselves in. Lord help us to help these children.
In Jesus' name.
Amen

Project of the Week
Y Kids Bootle is based in an area with high levels of crime and unemployment and low academic achievement. The project sends teams into local schools, offering assemblies, lessons, citizenship and arts projects, promoting well being for young people in this deprived community.
Fact:
3.8 million children – one in three – are currently living in poverty in the UK, one of the highest rates in the industrialised world. This is a shocking figure given the wealth of our nation. (www.endchildpoverty.org.uk) |
