What is payroll giving?

Payroll Giving is a simple, tax-effective way to give to Church Urban Fund, available to anyone paying tax through the UK PAYE (Pay As You Earn) system. It's easy to join, requires nothing to do beyond signing a simple form, and gets immediate tax relief on your on-going donations.

 

How does the tax relief work?

You donate a set amount of money (£10, for example). Your donation is taken from your pre-tax (i.e. gross) earnings. If you pay the basic rate of tax (20%) it will only cost you £8 to give £10 to Church Urban Fund. And if you pay the higher rate of tax (40%) it will only cost you £6 to give £10!

Find out from your payroll department if your employer is already registered for Payroll Giving.

  • If so, download a Payroll Giving from the bottom of this page to complete and give to our payroll department.
