Power and Poverty forum

This is the first in a series of forums, examining the relationship between power and poverty and the role of churches (of all denominations) in developing an understanding and addressing some of the issues involved. Speakers include Dr Luke Bretherton from the Faith and Public Policy Forum, and Church Urban Fund's Chair, Canon Paul Hackwood.

Greenbelt Festival 26 - 29 August 2011

Church Urban Fund is very pleased to be sponsoring the Kitchen venue at Greenbelt again this year.

Greenbelt Festival is held over four days at Cheltenham Racecourse. The Kitchen hosts a unique mix of talks, workshops and interactive sessions covering a wide range of community-based topics, designed to provoke discussion and shared thinking on issues around tackling poverty, being community, and living out faith.

A one day conference and consultation for Christian youth workers.

Research indicates that at any one time over 10% of young people will experience siginficant mental health problems. By the end of their teenage lives it is estimated that around 40% of young people will have had some mental health issue to contend with.

August 2010: Church Urban Fund at Greenbelt Festival

Tim Bissett - Church Urban Fund's CEO - talks about CUF's partnership with Greenbelt and the sessions that will be happening in our sponsored venue.

This year is the fifth year that Church Urban Fund has partnered Greenbelt Festival, the largest Christian arts festival in Europe. Greenbelt offers a unique blend of faith, justice and arts, a fertile ground where ideas about community, living the Gospel and being active in creating change can take shape. 

This year, Church Urban Fund is sponsoring the Kitchen, a venue dedicated to talks and workshops on community and social action. In this month's podcast, Tim explains why this is a good fit with CUF's aims, and talks about two special sessions that CUF is running during the Festival.


Crossing the Threshold - 30th September - Woking

A day for churches full of practical ideas, inspiring sessions and interactive workshops on how to get the local community more involved in using their church buildings.

Annual Report Meeting, CARISMA, Manchester

CARISMA staff will be reporting back to the community about this year's activities. The Financial Report will be presented, along with reports from the Chair of Trustees and the project's CEO, Erinma Bell. Refreshments will be provided, and the session is open for anyone to ask questions about CARISMA's work or suggest new ideas.
