Our Aims

Bandywood project
Through our funding, support and research we aim to assist groups as they implement their visions, helping them to draw out plans to tackle poverty in their communities.

The Church Urban Fund aims to:
  • Empower local projects with resources to enable them to address issues of poverty
  • Be a first funder to faith-based social action projects Work at a grassroots level
  • Be a voice for faith communities
  • Influence regeneration policy both nationally and locally
  • Act as a signpost to helpful resources
  • Help projects think clearly about their aims and objectives
  • Help projects to think about the long-term impact of their work
  • Encourage the Church to better understand and serve people living in poverty

Our support for others does not just end with the projects: we are in a unique position to act as a conduit for Christian action. In a society where the Church’s role is often deemed to be of marginal worth, we see the Church as being at the heart of the community.
