CUF funding

Church Urban Fund has an annual grant-making budget of around £1 million. Grants are awarded to community groups offering all kinds of support to people living in England's poorest communities.

CUF particularly supports churches in deprived areas reaching out to serve their local community, but we also welcome applications from other faith groups.

All applications need to be made via our network of local Diocesan Link Officers. If you're unsure which Anglican diocese you're in, you can find out using a simple search on the Church of England's 'A Church Near You' website: enter your postcode to find your nearest church; clicking the church's name will tell you which diocese it is in

Please note that our Main Grants/Continuation Grants programme is suspended until January 2011.

Health and Belief grants

Mustard Seed Grant Programme 2010

The Mustard Seed Grant programme aims to provide grants of up to £5,000 to enable churches and faith-based organisations to engage in social action, by supporting them to initiate or develop community work.

The pilot studies and initial work funded by Mustard Seed Grant funding allows groups to undertake larger pieces of work or significantly improve the existing provision that they offer.
