People & organisation
Church Urban Fund was established as a registered charity in 1987 (charity number 297483) following the publication of the landmark report, Faith in the City.
The charity is governed by a board of Trustees who delegate responsibilities for the running of the organisation to the Chief Executive and the Senior Management Team; our Patron is HM the Queen and our President is The Most Reverend and Right. Honourable Dr. Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury.
The Board of Trustees are appointed through nominations by the Church of England and also through external appointments.
Church Urban Fund has a staff team of 15 in the central office in Church House, Westminster, but we also work closely with a network of Diocesan Link Officers who advise and support us on grant making and local initiatives.
